Easy website management

Our proprietary Content Management System makes building, updating and managing your website as easy as writing a letter.

New site or redesign
Whether you're planning on creating a brand new site, or thinking of giving your existing website a bit of an update, Siena can help. By separating out presentation from content, Siena can help build and develop your new site and can be seamlessly added to existing site designs.

Unlimited creativity
There are no creative limitations on web design and layout. Siena can work with any layout, navigation structure and content type. Unlike many other systems that used templated layouts, Siena is entirely bespoke and unique to your business.

Future proof
As your business grows, you may want to expand the scope of your website to include online ordering, an online shop or maybe a gallery of products. Siena is designed in such a way, that additional functionality can be added easily and cost effectively. This means that your site won't need to be rebuilt, or migrated to a new system every time your needs change.

Search engine friendly
One thing that search engines hate is content that is inaccessible (movies and embedded graphics for example). It makes their job indexing your site difficult and therefore they tend to downgrade the search result. Siena generates simple HTML pages that are easily understood by all search engines and increases your chances of a high ranking.

Asset management
Use Siena as an online library for all approved company logos, graphics and images. This guarantees that only approved material is used on the website and offers your company a central location for all corporate identity assets.

Rapid build
Siena allows website developers and designers to build sites in a fraction of the time it would take to build a conventional non-content managed HTML site. By allowing multiple content providers to add content at the same time as the templates are being developed means that the site comes together quicker, which means it costs less to build!

Admin functionality
If you don't wish to change your website but want to add an admin 'back end', then Siena can do this too. By adding the Siena content management system to your existing site you benefit by not having to ask your web designers to change your site ever again, and your site users don't have to get used to a new site layout. Over time as you wish to update your site design, this is easily accomplished by updating the templates that users see.

Unlimited scope
The 'look' of the website is locked into templates. These templates are unique to your site and provide the system with a public face. These templates are simple HTML pages and can follow any design. Put simply there are no limitations, your site can be as complex or as simple as your brand and identity will allow!

Add, remove, reorder site contents
From time to time, your site map and navigation structure will need updating as new pages are added. You have the ability to add and remove pages, modify navigation menus, edit drop down menus and control any CSS defined element. In fact you can entirely change your website site map in a matter of minutes using Siena's intuitive interface.

Create and maintain specialised article types
Siena pages are divided up into articles. These articles can all have independent behaviours, displaying their contents with pre-conditions such as latest news ordering, image auto resizing, product detail and so on. In this manner complex functionality can be encapsulated in areas within the template and the attributes of these article types applied to any content placed within them. This makes maintenance of apparently complex pages, straighforward, as there is no requirement to access the underlying code.

Multiple users
Siena allows you to design and build your site collaboratively. Multiple contributors can work simultaneously adding pictures, text and graphics to the site. Each user has a clear audit trail and new users can be added easily by Administrators. The advantage of working in this way is that sites can be developed in a fraction of the time and the process is 'transparent' with project sponsors able to monitor progress and content development as it happens.

Versions
A website is not a static thing: articles get updated, new articles get written, additional pages are added. From time to time, the look of the website may be changed completely. Siena allows for this with the concept of Versions. There is always a 'live' version of your website which is what visitors to your site see. Typically, the contributors are working on the next edition (version) of the site. When that version is ready for publication, an Administrator will 'publish' a version which then becomes the 'live' public version of the site. The existing site is backed up as version 'old live' so you can revert if necessary.

Interface
Siena uses a dual frame design. The version of the website you are working on is displayed in the right pane. The controls for editing the website are displayed in the left pane. If the 'Show Edit Controls' button at the top is checked then you will also see controls on your website to allow you to edit the relevent content by clicking on your website. These controls are never available to the end users, they are just visible when using Siena. To turn off these controls so you can see how your site would look to end users, uncheck the 'Show Edit Controls' checkbox.

WYSIWYG editing
Editing your articles couldn't be easier. Simply navigate to your page on the website, find the article that you wish to edit, and click on the 'pencil' icon next to the article. You are taken to the editing window in which you can change your text, add images, links, pdf documents and a whole host of other tasks. All via the intuitive interface with controls familiar to anyone who has used MS Word.

Raw HTML editing
If you wish to add more complex content, such as embedded Flash movies, motion graphics, interactive form elements and such like, Siena allows you to convert an article to raw html, so that you can add code directly into your page.

Form builder
Siena templates can be enabled with the form builder feature which allows site administrators to create feedback forms quickly and easily with no experience coding and no html. Siena gathers the information input and stores it and can also send out emails to specified addresses alerting administrators that users have completed the online form.

Backup security
In addition to the Archive function, Siena has a manual backup that can output the contents of your website to your local machine or network for saving to CD or to a backup drive.
